The Willing House provides safe housing for all who need it, with all the comforts of home, and a feeling of close-knit peer support. If a safe and sober living environment with fellowship and support is what you seek, we know you’ll find it here at The Willing House. Effective September 1, 2016, state agencies and their vendors are only able to refer clients to certified alcohol and drug-free (ADF) housing. In accordance with this requirement, MASH serves as the primary agency for accountability of all certified homes in Massachusetts. Our organization also provides supervision and training for sober homes, and maintains a database of more than 180 MASH-certified sober homes. What is expected of residents of a sober home?

Certification Application Steps

The organization has a Code of Ethics and Standards of Operation. Though The Willing House does Not provide treatment of any kind, our preferred provider at Lake Avenue Recovery has best in class addiction treatment for those seeking a higher level of care. We’ve been there! Community members are all people in recovery who are actively working a program of recovery. Our main focus is to provide a safe and sober environment for recovering addicts and alcoholics.

Sober homes support various abstinence-based pathways to recovery, and each residence focuses on one or more particular pathway. All MASH sober homes meet national standards based on the National Alliance for Recovery Residences (NARR) model. The Willing House is the last step before one bridges themselves back to “the real world”, helping people with the disease of addiction move on once they are completely comfortable to leave this environment. It is up to the individual to utilize the tools they’ve learned in recovery in order to stay clean and sober. Each recovering individual has one foot in their recovery continuum building a support group for themselves once they leave us, and the other foot in everyday life.
